Refund Policy
Last updated: March 19, 2026
1. Escrow Protection
Every purchase on QuantPlace is protected by a 3-day escrow period. When you buy a dataset, your payment is held securely by the Platform for 3 full days before being released to the vendor. This gives you time to download, inspect, and verify the dataset before the transaction is finalized.
2. How Escrow Works
You purchase a dataset. Payment is captured and held in escrow. You can immediately download the dataset.
You have 3 days to verify the dataset. If the data is fake, corrupted, materially different from the listing description, or otherwise unusable, you may open a dispute.
If no dispute is filed, funds are automatically released to the vendor. The transaction is marked as completed and is no longer eligible for a refund.
3. Eligible Refund Reasons
You may request a refund within the 3-day escrow window if:
- The dataset is corrupted or unreadable (e.g., damaged files, encoding errors)
- The data is fake or fabricated (e.g., generated data misrepresented as real market data)
- The dataset materially differs from the listing (e.g., wrong date range, missing columns, different exchange)
- The dataset contains insufficient or empty data (e.g., mostly null values, far fewer rows than described)
4. How to Open a Dispute
Navigate to your Purchases page and locate the transaction. While the escrow is active (status: "In escrow"), you can file a dispute by providing a description of the issue. Our team will review the dispute and the dataset within 48 hours. If the dispute is justified, a full refund will be issued.
5. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds are not available in the following cases:
- The 3-day escrow period has expired and funds have been released
- You simply changed your mind or no longer need the dataset
- The dataset matches its description but does not meet your personal expectations
- You have already used the dataset commercially
6. Dispute Resolution
All disputes are reviewed by the QuantPlace admin team. We may request additional evidence from both the buyer and vendor. Decisions are final and will be communicated to both parties. If a refund is approved, the full purchase amount is returned to the buyer, and the vendor receives no payment for that transaction.
7. Subscription Refunds
Subscription fees ($1/month for additional dataset slots) are non-refundable once the billing period has begun. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and it will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
